What circumstances seem to have placed limits on your life?
— A Breakup? —
Had you finally found yourself in a relationship with “the one”? Did you start imagining life with them; married, building and starting a family? And then one day the relationship was over, leaving you heartbroken and feeling insecure and unworthy of love? Are you now afraid that you will be single forever and are incapable of having a healthy and lasting relationship?
— Trauma? —
That thing that happened to you that time shook your world. Even though it may have happened years ago, everyday you wake up with that awful picture in your head and that sick feeling in the pit of your stomach. You’ve accepted this as your new normal because there is no way that you could ever get through that past hurt. So, when the terrible memories get too overwhelming, you know just how to “cope” to numb the pain.
— Anxiety and/or Depression? —
Are you often tired, but can never seem to get enough rest? Is your mind constantly racing? Do you find yourself sad and worrying or stressing over what seems to be everything? Have you noticed a change in your appetite? Are you more irritable and are no longer interested in the things that used to bring you joy? Have you given up hope and decided that it would be best to isolate yourself from the world?

“You’re so skinny!” “You need to be working out! You are huge!” “Your nose is so big!” “Your skin is too dark!” “You’re ugly!” “What’s up with your legs?” “Do you ever tan? You’re so pale!” Have others made statements like these about you? Do you tell yourself similar things and now you’re feeling stuck in a body that you hate?
No matter the circumstances and how they left you feeling, know that you can heal, start again and change the ending.
